Solo exhibition 'Mirror' now open at Jennings Kerr gallery

James Lieutenant is delighted to be presenting his third solo exhibition with Jennings Kerr in Robertson (Southern Highlands, NSW Australia). The exhibition is open Aug 23 - Sept 22, 2024.

The exhibition consists of 27 artworks, made of acrylic paint applied in various ways to canvas and board. David Greenhalgh (a remix video artist who, for his primary income, works as an archivist/curator type at the National Gallery of Australia) has written a short essay to accompany the exhibition.

“James Lieutenant is an artist who creates work with an interrupted signal. In creating this new series of screen-printed works on canvas, he decided to adopt a new philosophy and process in order to create visually arresting and uncomfortable work. Lieutenant calls this the agitated surface.”
